So, I'm really digging calligraphy.
And I'm listening to a lot of spoken word.

and its like, words words words art(?) expression expression expression

but then its like

nobody reads calligraphy, and what does writing calligraphy in one language do, anyway?

There is a piece of calligraphy in the Denver art museum. A giant, dinner-plate sized circle (drawn with a brush.) That's all there is on the whole silk. The way that the brush strokes get thinner as the brush went around the circle has a beauty I can't describe, but stays with me. Thinking about the circle makes an ugly day better. its not carefully drawn; there's a sense of speed, as if someone made a big, happy gesture and this is the reminder. It stays with me. mom
